I love auto racing. For this reason I do not write pieces to bash the sport just for the sake of bashing. I don’t post sensationalistic columns. However, criticism offered constructively should be welcomed and even encouraged.

This weekend brings the NHRA to Charlotte. The drag racers kick off their Countdown to One with ten finalists to settle the championships in four national touring divisions. Top Fuel, Funny Car, Pro Stock, and Pro Stock Motorcycle stage the first of the season’s Countdown events. Del Worsham, Mike Neff, Greg Anderson, and Eddie Krawiec are the top class seeds respectively.
Also this weekend, NASCAR’s Cup Series begins its Chase in Chicago. Kyle Busch is the top seed of the dozen winners and top point earners.
