John King, Daytona Truck Winner, On Motor Week LIVE! March 12th

The underdog NASCAR Truck Series victor at Daytona International Speedway, John King, will be the special guest on the March 12th Motor Week LIVE! program.

King claimed the upset win in only his eighth Truck Series start and with a brief short track resume when compared to much of his competition.

Motor Week LIVE! will also review the Las Vegas NASCAR weekend, the NHRA action from Gainesville, FL and the week’s headlines.

My six-year-old daughter Colleen is growing into quite the little race fan. On more than one occasion, our speedway experiences together have produced interesting observations. A few columns have also been sparked from her motorsports commentary.

How does the saying go? Out of the mouths of babes?

But an obvious factor had escaped her notice. The motorsports element that would, without question, grab a young girl’s focus and capture her attention like a movie about princesses saving ponies wearing diamond saddles. A detail that grows slightly each season and is now commonplace at racetracks has not been a major issue with her.
