Tom Higgins Visits Motor Week LIVE! May 13th

Former Charlotte Observer NASCAR writer Tom Higgins will be the Motor Week LIVE! special guest on Monday, May 13th.

Higgins is a National Motorsports Press Association Hall of Fame inductee and is releasing a series of books that will be available in print and e-book format. “Racing Into The Past: Tales From The Glory Days: The 1950s and 1960s” is the first in a series highlighting different eras of his writing through NASCAR history.

Motor Week LIVE! will also review the Darlington Southern 500, NHRA’s rescheduled Atlanta meet, F1′s Spanish Grand Prix, the Indianapolis 500 opening practice day, and the weekend’s top stories.

Motor Week LIVE! Welcomes Mario Fiore To April 22nd Show

Longtime NASCAR Modified car owner Mario Fiore will join host Patrick Reynolds on the Monday, April 22nd Motor Week LIVE! broadcast.

Fiore has fielded Modified entries for some very well-known drivers in Modified history including Reggie Ruggiero, Rick Fuller, and claimed the Tour championship in 2000 with Jerry Marquis. Mario will offer his thoughts on the early-season Modified races and share some memories from days gone by.

Motor Week LIVE! will also review the Kansas Cup and Truck Series doubleheader, Charlotte’s Four-Wide NHRA Nationals, the Long Beach Grand Prix, and the weekend’s top stories.

Larson Holds Off Logano Charge For Rockingham Win; Hornaday and Wallace Feud

Rockingham, NC- Kyle Larson dominated the NASCAR Truck Series event Sunday afternoon for his first career series win. But he had to hold off a hard charging Joey Logano, who used a risky tire strategy to nearly steal the victory.

Larson led 187 of the 205 total laps run which was extended from the original 200 by a green-white-checker finish.

Larson led the pack of Trucks off pit road on lap 145 for what was the final scheduled stop for most of the leaders as teams bolted on their remaining set of sticker tires. Logano’s crew chief, Chad Kendrick made the call to put on a scuffed set of tires, holding back the Brad Keselowski Racing team’s final allotted new tire set and gambling another caution period would occur.
